dienacht e. V. and the GRASSI Museum for Applied Arts invite you to the second LEIPZIG PHOTOBOOK FESTIVAL on April 29th and 30th, 2023. The Leipzig Photobook Festival is an international festival that presents and celebrates the potential of the photo book medium in a contemporary context. We want to entertain, stimulate and change the way photo books are viewed.

The festival takes place during the Leipzig Book Fair – the second largest book fair in Germany, which has so far attracted more than 250,000 visitors to Leipzig. In 2023, the focus will be on photo books from African countries, as African photo books are still little known in the photo book landscape in Europe and only sporadically available on the European market, and yet they represent a very interesting and booming phenomenon. There will also be panel discussions, presentations and two exhibitions – a photo book and a photography exhibition. More than 20 publishers, art schools, artists and photographers from Germany and all over Europe present their work in the spacious foyer of the Grassi Museum.

Visiting the festival is free of charge.
