Dream Worlds of Art Deco

Decorative porcelain such as boxes, bowls, or vases with tropical plants, dancers, or wild animals were hugely popular in the 1920s. Kurt Wendler (1893-1980) designed dream and fairytale worlds for Rosenthal with particularly imaginative decorations in bright colors and gold. They reflect the stylized, expressive design language of Art Deco. To this day, the hand-painted porcelain objects are highly sought-after collector's items. The selection is complemented by designs of other artists such as Kurt Severin and Hans Küster. All exhibits come from the collection of Prof. Dr. Peter W. Schatt.

Admission to the special exhibition is free.
