Container made of gold
Ulla und Martin Kaufmann
The artist couple Ulla and Martin Kaufmann have been confirmed as exhibitors by every jury since the refoundation of GRASSIMESSE in 1997. In their jewellery workshop in Hildesheim, they produce the famous chip-like collars made of gold, but also "pots" made of silver, which draw on borrowings from contemporary large-scale sculpture and architecture.
In recent years, a series of gilded containers have been created to which this foyer exhibition is dedicated.
The bilingual catalogue KUBEN (66 pages plus cover, thread-stitched) with texts by Dr. Claudia Banz and Dr. Olaf Thormann is published to accompany the exhibition. The catalogue is only available in the museum shop.
